The Bindery

In the bindery, the printed sheets are stitched to pads, then glued with bone glue and, finally, bound in the classic manner. Leather spines or leather-bound covers combined with marbled or ornamental paper lend an appropriate appearance to the works and guarantee greatest possible durability for generations.

For the decoration of the spines and covers, we have hundreds of gilding tools and fonts to chose from, some of which are no less than two hundred years old.

We bind our works in the classic method of half-leather binding. However, we also use modern and experimental kinds of material like chamois leather or semi-transparent pieces of polypropylene.

In the same manners in which we produce new works we restore old ones or provide new books with nicer and less delicate covers. We also do cardboard works like cases with linen covers.
