In 1891 the social-reformer and artist William Morris draw a medieval type for his Kelmscott-Press: The Troy-Type.
Mit Hilfe der heute noch vorhandenen originalen Stahlstempel aus der Cambrigde-University gelang es Parnassia, ein exaktes Redesign der Troy-Type zu schaffen.
By using the original steel-punches now stored in the Library of Cambridge University it was possible to create an exact redesign of Troy-Type.
Mit Photopolymer-Technik hergestellte dreidimensionale Modelle der Buchstabe dienten als Graviervorlagen der Messing-Matrizen. Mit dem Matrizenbohrer können Linienstärken von 0.1 mm graviert werden.
Photopolymer-technique helped to make three-dimensional patterns of each type which were used to engrave the brass matrices. Details of 0.1mm can be achieved with the Matrix-cutter.
Zum Giessen der Bleilettern wurden 96 Messing-Matrizen für das System Monotype graviert. Damit stehen sämtliche Buchstaben für englische und deutsche Texte in 18 Punkt zur Verfügung.
To cast the lead-types 96 brass-matrices for Monotype-System had to be cut. All the necessary types for English and German texts are available in 18 Point.
Mit der Monotype-Satzmaschine können einerseits beliebig lange fertig formatierte Texte ab EDV-generiertem Lochband hergestellt werden. Andereseits werden einzelne Bleilettern für den Handsatz gegossen.
The Monotype-Composition Caster is either able to cast ready-to-print composition by using a computer-punched paper-ribbon or to cast single types for hand-composition.
